Mayor – James Mayer

James was born in Burnet, Texas and his Spring Branch roots run deep.   He is the grandson of Ottie & Alfred Jonas , great grandson of Meta & Willie Fischer and great, great grandson of Hans Heinrich Dietrich Knibbe the original founder of Spring Branch.  James spent 27 years in the truck leasing business with Ryder, 10 years as a Harley-Davidson dealer in North Texas and  returned to the truck leasing business in 2013 with Rush Enterprises in New Braunfels.  For the past 30 years James has managed multi-million dollar business units, built business plans and led the teams to manage them.  All the while identifying problems and implementing solutions to  challenges as they arose.  Although running unopposed, James is a totally qualified candidate for mayor and offers the following perspective:

“Preserving Spring Branch for the next and all future generations is the most important reason for incorporating.”

Commissioner – Brad Hockman

Brad, his wife Sandra and two children have lived in Spring Branch for 17 years and have owned a business on Hwy 281 for the last 16 years.  Brad was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1992 with Degrees in Economics and Business Administration.   His work experience as a vendor and Development Manager for the US Military along with his knowledge of local conditions will be a valuable asset to the community.   Brad spends his free time rooting for the Hawkeyes & the Spurs.

Commissioner – David Dobbins

David and his wife Missy moved to Spring Branch in 2016. What was supposed to be a temporary stop while they built in New Braunfels quickly turned into a love for the area and a permanent home. David has over 30 years in the technology industry, most recently leading teams that build large, high-volume software systems for distributed computing. When not in front of a computer screen you might find David exploring the area (or the US) by bicycle, working to foster rescue dogs, or tending to his bees.

City Clerk – Terrie Barnes

Terrie and her husband Mike designed and built their home in the Spring Branch area, moving here in 2020. Originally from San Antonio, she lived in North Texas for 17 years. She spent 20 years in the finance industry and more than 6 years in elementary education at a North Texas school district. She and her family have strong connections to the University of Texas Longhorns and the Texas State University Bobcats.
